OUVEMA, in partnership with the International Cycling Union (UCI), is organising a series of conferences on cycling policies:

  • On 17 March , Manuel Calvo will show how Seville, which did not have a cycling culture, increased the number of daily bike trips from 6,000 to 70,000 in 4 years.
  • On 14 April, Sébastien Marrec will analyse the rise of cycling in Paris and in particular certain emblematic measures such as the introduction of a bicycle express network and corona cycle ways.
  • On 19 May, Henk-Jan Dekker will trace the history of cycling policy in the Netherlands and the successive struggles to make Dutch cities exemplary in the field of cycling.
  • On 2 June, Isabella Burczak and the city of Wollongong (Australia) will present the UCI Bike City label and the opportunity of using major cycling sport events to develop utility cycling.
