Cycling for green economic growth – potentials for regional cycle planning
Tuesday the 21st of September the online event “Cycling for green economic growth – potentials for regional cycle planning” was aired.
This event was held in relation to the launch of the Strategic Cycling Plan for Greater Copenhagen and focused on how cycling can be used to create green economic development in regions and metropolitan areas.
Learn what role the European Commission considers cycling to play in the European Green Deal and what trends ECF’s president Henk Swarttouw identifies for regional cycling. And hear inspirational presentations about how the New York metropolitan area improves the cycle network across water, how the Province of Limburg, Belgium successfully promotes cycle tourism, and how cycling can play an important role in regional development in Greater Copenhagen.
Finally a political debate about the potentials of cycling as a tool towards Greater Copenhagen becoming a leading green metropolitan area concludes the event.
